Memorial scrapbook honoring Florence James Adams (d. 1910) (Mrs. Milward Adams), a well-known and much respected teacher of dramatic acting in Chicago (Ill.), contains letters of appreciation from several of her pupils, an address delivered at The Fortnightly (a club of which Mrs. Adams was a member), and a collections of photographs that show Florence James Adams and the sculpture "Inspiration," by Kathleen Robinson of the Lorado Taft studio, which was created in honor of Adams and given to the Art Institute of Chicago. Also present are a pastel portrait and a list of the recipients of a prize at the University of Chicago, known as the Florence James Adams Memorial, from 1912 to 1943. Funds for the sculpture and prize were raised by Josephine Knowland Laflin, who also compiled the memorial scrapbook.
